Facilitation for retreats and convenings
Need a facilitator for a board retreat, staff planning session, or convening? I design and lead gatherings where groups can work through hard questions, make decisions, and leave with a clear plan.
Who this work is for
I work mostly with nonprofits, and I give priority to faith and spiritual communities, environmental organizations, and family services. I also work with government agencies and businesses.
How an engagement works
- Planning meetings (two): I learn your goals, what has been tried, and where you expect resistance. We agree on whether each agenda item is for information, discussion, or decision.
- Individual interviews (up to three hours total): Thirty-minute conversations with key participants, before the session.
- Method briefing: Your group hears how the session will work, including any reflective or quiet practices, and agrees to them before the day.
- The session: A half-day or full-day facilitated session, designed around your goals.
- Debrief and follow-up: A one-hour follow-up debrief on Zoom with your sponsor, a one-page summary, a participant feedback summary, and short follow-up notes within a few days.
What the fee includes
- Two planning meetings and up to three hours of individual interviews
- Agenda design tailored to your goals, with an overview for participants
- Access needs survey and coordination with your logistics contact
- Facilitation of the session, including daily feedback for multi-day events
- One-hour follow-up debrief on Zoom with your sponsor
- Participant feedback survey, visual documentation (PDF), and one-page summary
- Short follow-up notes to your sponsor and key individuals within a few days
- Session materials
Not included: travel, travel time, lodging, and per diems. Follow-up sessions and extra preparation are priced separately.
Rates
Fees are per facilitator. Your tier is set by your organization's annual budget. Qualifying priority organizations (faith and spiritual communities, environmental organizations, and family services) are placed one tier lower.
